• John Fredrick Vespie, 47

        John Fredrick Vespie, 47, of Wartburg, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
        He was Pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Lancing and served as a volunteer Chaplain for the (MEPS) Military Entrance Processing Center.
        Mr. Vespie was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Vespie.
        He is survived by his wife, Tresa Vespie; daughters, Jocelyn and husband Joshua Craft and Lydia Vespie; three grandchildren; mother, Joyce Owens Vespie; and step-father, Frank Owens.

  • Donnie Lee Watson Jr., 43

        Donnie Lee Watson Jr., 43, of Harriman, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home.
        He is survived by his mother and step-father, Lois Woods Hester and David Hester; son, Chad Goff of Michigan; and daughter, Kassandra Disney and husband Josh of Oak Ridge.
        The family received friends at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral service followed at 4 p.m. The graveside service will be held in Petros Cemetery at a later date.

  • Herman Clayton Davis, 86

        Herman Clayton Davis, 86, of Coalfield, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
        He was born in Coalfield on July 7, 1929 to the late Alva and Edith Davis. Clayton graduated from Coalfield School and lived most of his life in the community. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

  • Joann Mee Basler, 82

        Joann Mee Basler, 82, of Harriman, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Parkwest Medical Center.
        She was preceded in death by her parents, David King and Annie Godsey Mee.
        Mrs. Basler is survived by her husband, Howard Ray Basler; sons, Darrell Ray Basler and wife Donna of Connecticut, and Mark King Basler and wife Angela of Harriman; and three grandsons.

        Tammy Collins, 45, of Oakdale, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
        She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Collins.
        She is survived by her mother, Nellie Powers Oran; and siblings, Deidra Golliher and husband Jeff, Terry Collins and Brian Collins and wife Linda.
        The family met at 3:30 p.m. in Old Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Rockwood Monday, March 9, 2015 for a graveside service at 4 p.m. with Bro. Dennis Bennett officiating.

  • Dale Bryan Duncan, 56

        Dale Bryan Duncan, 56, of Harriman, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at home.
        He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Day Duncan.
        Mr. Duncan is survived by his daughters, Christy and husband Kurt Giles of Kingston and Brandi and husband Christopher Hendrickson of Oliver Springs; parents, RW and Joyce Duncan; five grandchildren.
        The family will meet in Piney Grove Cemetery on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. for a graveside service.

  • Maylene Hosea, 93

        Maylene Hosea, 93, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
        She was preceded in death by her parents, James Newt and Ida Lee Densman Wood; husband, George Thomas Hosea; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
        Mrs. Hosea is survived by her son, Michael Hosea and wife RoxAne of Charlestown, IN; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

  • Randal Clayton Steelman, 71

        Randal Clayton Steelman, 71, of Oliver Springs, formerly of Sunbright, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at home.
        He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin L. and Edna Lee Steelman; and son, Tony Randal Steelman.
        Mr. Steelman is survived by his wife, Wanda Parton Steelman; son, Rocky Steelman of Oak Ridge; daughters, Teresa Liles and husband Richard of Clinton, Marsha Ausloos and husband Jeff of Green Bay, WI and Rhonda Haese of Clinton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  • Gustavous ‘Gus’ Chilton, 88

        Gustavous William Chilton, ‘Gus’ 88, of Wartburg, went to be with his risen Lord, Sunday, March 1, 2015.  
        Gus was born July 13, 1926 and was the son of the late Louise Heidel and Dillard Chilton.  
        He served in the Marines on the USS Aircraft Carrier during World War II.  
    He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Emma Zachary and Jack Zachary all of Myrtle Beach, SC.

  • Clara Louise Phillips-Armes

        Clara Louise Phillips-Armes, 84, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Northhaven Healthcare in Knoxville.  
        She was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Elmer Armes; and daughter, Rose Armes Young.  
        She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Farmer and her faithful son-in-law, Howard E. Farmer Jr., both of Knoxville; granddaughters, Mary Armes of Riceville and Holly Ricker of Knoxville; grandsons, Danny Paul and Joshua Young both of Sunbright; and four great-grandchildren.
