By Taylor Crombie

The Harriman Lady Devils have been the only team that has performed consistently in the District 3-A tournament and it has paid off in the form of ending a 15-year region tournament drought with Wednesday night’s win.

Harriman took on the Coalfield Lady Jackets in Wednesday’s opening game and came out on top 7-5.

“Our team wants it,” Harriman coach Chasity Lowery said. “We broke a 15-year streak of not making it to regions.”

Runs were hard to come by for both teams early in the game.
