  • Incidents reported to the sheriff’s office Sept. 17-23

    Editor’s Note: Following is a list of offenses reported by deputies working in the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and is taken from the public record. Any charges stemming from these incidents will be reported separately in the Arrest Report.

  • Offenses reported to sheriff’s office Sept. 1 to Sept. 15

    Editor’s Note: Following is a list of offenses reported by deputies working in the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. After this week, an offense report will be published on a weekly basis.

  • Residence on Bob Armes Circle burglarized

    A home on Bob Armes Circle was burglarized Monday morning at about 11.
        According to a report filed by Deputy Larry Lawson with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office a man passing by saw a vehicle at the residence that wasn’t supposed to be there. He followed a vehicle described as a brown Subaru until a patrol car began pursuit.
        The suspect fled from the vehicle on foot leaving items allegedly stolen from the home with the vehicle.

  • Oakdale man killed in traffic accident

        An Oakdale man was killed in a traffic accident last night on State Hwy. 299  just north of its intersection with Snow Hill Road.
        According to Trooper Kenny Sheldon’s report, Daniel E. Lovegrove, 67, was traveling south on SR 299. He was riding a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
        Ellis Ray Hamby, Jr., 38, of Harriman was traveling north in a 1986 Ford Bronco.

  • Former prison staffer given 3 years

       A former employee of Morgan County Correctional Complex has been sentenced to three years probation on charges of carrying contraband into the facility.
        District Attorney Russell Johnson said Michelle Heidle was sentenced before Criminal Court Judge Eugene Eblen in Roane County on Friday although she was indicted and charged in Morgan County.
        Assistant DA Frank Harvey, who was prosecutor on the case for the State, argued that Heidle should be given some jail time.
