• Wow! I got paid for that!!!

When you read this week’s Senior Lifestyles section you will be introduced to five wonderful and amazing people.

  • Super Seniors really are ‘super’

I have interviewed two of the “super seniors” that we will feature later this month in our Senior Lifestyles section.
And so far I have to say they really are “super” people.
My sons have often told me “Mom, I don’t believe you get paid for this” and sometimes I feel that way too, especially when I get to sit across from a really remarkable person and get a small portion of what others see in them that makes them special.

  • Sharing the Past

I am using the last picture of the Morgan County Elementary Schools Basketball Tournament back in 1970 that was taken from Morgan County News dated March 12, 1970.
I really appreciate Rhonda Laughter for helping scan the old pictures and working to make them presentable to ‘share’ these with you readers.

  • Newspaper makes a difference

As I was driving into work Tuesday morning, I noticed that a stretch of Highway 62 near Pettit Lane was being paved. Work started back up on the project soon after I ran a photo on this page a couple weeks ago asking where the workers had gone.

  • CES girls basketball team from 1970

This week I am ‘sharing’ a copy of the Girls Basketball tournament that ran back in 1970 in the Morgan County News. Again, I hope you sports minded readers will really enjoy seeing these old pictures. I am glad to say that I recognize the coach in this particular photo and some of the girls!
This picture is of the Central Elementary girls who took second place in the county tournament.

  • Sharing the Past

I am ‘sharing’ another article from an old Morgan County News paper dated March, 1970, for the pleasure of our readers this week.

  • Your nominations for Super Seniors section are appreciated

I want to say thank you to each of you who sent us a nominee for our Senior Lifestyles section that will feature four of our county’s “super seniors” in March.

  • Sharing the Past

This week I am ‘sharing’ an article sent to me by a gentleman who used to live in Morgan County and is still very much interested in what is happening here. He is especially interested in the sports program at Central High School and when you read what he sent to me you will understand that. His letter is too good to delete anything from it, so here it is as he wrote it:

  • Sharing the Past

My what a wonderful old picture we have this week. I do want to thank Margaret VanNorstran for bringing it by and I want to apologize for not being able to talk to her! We think it was a case of vertigo!
