And especially you the spectator who endured the scorching heat also. This was our largest crowd ever and we hope to see everyone again next year.

  • Local Pastor calls out Edwards on false statements

    Dear Editor,

This is my first letter to the Editor as I prefer to not engage into politics so this is an exception.

  • Edwards concerned about Economic Development Board actions

    Dear Editor,

An unbiased, objective person is able to tell of my desire to work with ANY and ALL persons and groups in our county that have the good of Morgan County families at heart.

  • Pollard shares times Edwards takes undue credit part II

..... Due to the length of this letter from Jean Pollard it is continued from last week’s issue of Morgan County News.

  • Pollard shares times Edwards takes undue credit

    Dear Editor,

I have had some folks ask me to write a letter to the papers in Morgan County and go into more detail about my recent comments about the speech Don Edwards made at the rally in Petros. I will tell you that in working in the newspapers for the past 33 years, I have heard a lot of ‘political opinions’ that were not based on the truth. So, I will share with you some things that Don Edwards was taken credit for when others had actually done the leg work and he only appeared later to take credit.

  • Redmon shares memories of late teacher

    Dear Editor,

I just have to write about a gracious lady, who I had as a teacher back in the 1950s. Her name is Marjorie Waddell, affectionately known as Miss Marjorie by her many students. She passed away at Brookdale Senior Living in Kingston on June 8, 2018, at the age of 102.

  • Foltz questions county executive

    Dear Editor,

Don Edwards, at a recent public forum, declared he had never lived in Loudon County nor had an affair on his wife. While I sure wouldn’t take it to the bank (since he has been less than honest on other things) it is not his private life that is a concern to the voters.

    Keck thankful for TMLF success

Jones praises Keck for being festival committed

    Dear Editor,

The 4th Annual Tennessee Mountain Laurel Festival on May 19 was another great event for Morgan County. The Morgan County Tourism Alliance (MCTA) works hard to make this event bigger and better each year and we think this year was the best yet.
    A quick summary:

  • From our readers

    Dear Editor,

I have noticed that someone has a problem with how our money has been spent.
It might pay to check with Gary Howard (Morgan County Director of Finance), he could help you.
Our county has spent around $80,000 on the Sheriff’s lawsuit, and $70,000 on medical and dental bills for inmates, and $22,500 on other lawsuits. We have to pay his lawyer bill as well as paying the county attorney also.

  • From our readers

    Editor,

This is a questionnaire for each and all running for County Executive. I ask that each of you reply.
Will you get new jobs into the county?
Will you take jobs away from our citizens? Especially when they ask for your help or when something had supposedly happened and not take time to find out what really did happen?
Will you help people who can’t read get jobs?
Will you help senior citizens get jobs?
