‘It was a horrible, horrible day’

Most people past the age of 25 remember where they were when Islamic radical terrorists attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

For Coalfield resident Michael Backer it’s easy. He was there.

“It was a horrible, horrible day,” Backer said of 9-11.

“I was an EMT in New Jersey and I was on my regular assignment. We were at a Morristown hospital. My usual job was to transport cardiac patients to another hospital.
