  • Stewart becomes Air Force graduate

    Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Eric L. Stewart graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

  • It’s a girl!

    Big brother, Jacob McPherson is proud to announce the birth of his baby sister, Lilly Rosella. Lilly was born on June 29th at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 3.8 ounces and was 19-3/4  inches long. Jacob and Lilly are the children of Gary and Kristin McPherson of Mossy Grove and the grandchildren of Kim Parks of Oliver Springs and Junior and Marcella McPherson also of Mossy Grove. Lilly is growing by leaps and bounds and Jacob can’t wait until she is big enough to play.
     

  • Tinkers have girl

    Aliya Nicole Tinker was born May 13, 2010 at Parkwest Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs, 1 oz, and was 21 inches long. Her proud parents are Bobby and Yolanda Tinker of Coalfield. She has a brother, Matthew and a sister, Megan. Grandparents are Frank and Betty Wright of Coalfield and Linda and the late Dee Tinker of Oakdale. She would like to say “hi” to her aunt Joyce and uncle Billy Heidel of Palatka, Florida and uncle Jim Ed and aunt Anne-Marie Wright of Dallas, Texas.

  • Abigail turns 4, wins pageant

    Hi! My name is Abigail Lynn Swint. I turned 4 on Sept. 19, 2010. My proud parents are Ashley Hamby and Brandon Swint and little brother Eli. My grandparents are Greg and Mindy Hamby and Tony and the late Gail Swint all of Lancing. My great-grandparents are Leland and Colleen Hamby, Maxine and the late William Jeffries and the late Harry and June Landrum all of Lancing and Archie and Jean Swint of Mossy Grove. I also won the 3 year old girls pageant at the Morgan County Fair on Aug. 19, 2010.

    Hi! My name is Thomas Eli Ritter. I turned 2 on August 18, 2010

    and I had a Disney cars birthday party on August 21, 2010. My proud parents are Tommy and Alyssa Ritter of Crossville. My grandparents are Angel Bates, Stanley and Reba Bates all of Lancing and Thomas and Melissa Ritter of Manchester, CT. My great-grandparents are Bonnie Bates and the late Junior Bates and Myrle and Imogene Aytes all of Lancing, Barbara Johnson of Pine Knot, Ky and the late Walter Johnson of West Minister, SC. Thank you to all my family and friends for all my gifts.

  • Silver Wedding Anniversary

    Gerald and Lana Adkisson – Taylor will celebrate their Silver Anniversary

    at their home, 186 Snow Lane in Harriman off Riggs Chapel Road. Lana retired from Wal-Mart. Gerald works at ORNL. They have two children, Todd and wife Denise Taylor and Scott Morgan, two grandchildren, T.J. Taylor and Cody Taylor all of Harriman. Their children invite all their family and friends to help celebrate on September 19, 2010 from 3 to 6 p.m. They were married September 21, 1985 at Childs Memorial Church by Rev. Ellis Patterson.

    Army Pvt. Anthony Ray Stewart has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.

  • Couple injured in car accident on the way to their wedding marry in hospital

        On Aug. 5 while traveling to their dream wedding on the pristine white beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama tragedy struck. While driving on I-65 South near Montgomery, Ala. a lady driving North bound bent over to pick up a water bottle and lost control of her car. She crossed the median and hit Brad McGrath and Renee Hook head on.

  • Massengales have son

    Trevor and Katelyn Massengale would like to announce the birth of their little brother, Levi Cole. Levi was born on July 11, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center – St. Mary’s. He weighed 8 lbs. and 11 oz. He was 23 inches long. Very happy mom and dad are TJ and Heather Massengale of Lancing. Grandparents are Bruce and JoAnne Melton of Lancing, Keith and Debbie Massengale of Petros and Marcella and John Pugin of Virginia. We thank the Lord for this precious gift.
